Safe, Homely Environment
We strive to offer our residents – whether they are staying long or short-term – a genuine “home from home” experience, while they stay with us.
We provide holistic 24-hour care and support supervised by registered nurses who are qualified to draw up and monitor care plans as well as provide and administer any medical treatment needed. We’re proud to be an award-winning nursing home providing extremely high standards of personal, medical and social care.
Those with loved ones needing medical care and attention can confidently rely on Moormead’s dedicated staff to meet all their relative’s needs in a kind, loving and dignified manner, day and night. We don’t use agency staff to “fill in” because we know how important it is for our residents to have continuity and a relationship with their familiar carers.
Since 1999 Moormead has hosted elderly residents who do not need hospital admission but suffer with various medical and psychological conditions requiring long term care and support, or respite care.
We provide palliative, rehabilitation and dementia nursing care for the able-bodied or frail aged, taking away the stress of the residents themselves as well as their families as they struggle with their medical condition.
Our residents come from the surrounding local area of Swindon and further afield in the counties of Wiltshire and Berkshire.
We find it extremely rewarding to offer not only all the home comforts to put our residents at ease, but also to fill their days with kindness, stimulation, good food and social activity while we cater for their medical requirements.
Please allow us a small boast, which we hope will serve to assure prospective residents and their relatives that Moormead Nursing Home is officially the best nursing home in Wiltshire!
We are proud to say we have won three awards – two Social Care Awards, one for Best Nursing Home Wiltshire (2017) and one as a Recognised Leader in Palliative Care (2018), as well as a Quality of Care Award for being rated Outstanding (2016).
To our delight these awards were acknowledged by Her Majesty the Queen with a congratulatory letter.
It’s wonderful to receive awards, but just as special to us are the many cards and letters we receive from our residents and their family members expressing their gratitude for our kindness and care.
We have an open-door policy and are always pleased to welcome visitors at any time at the home in Wroughton, Wiltshire, so if you would like to learn more about Moormead, we look forward to meeting you.
