Stylish Single Rooms
Moormead Nursing Home is situated in the large, attractive village of Wroughton in northeast Wiltshire, just a couple of miles south of Swindon town centre on the edge of the Marlborough Downs. So, we have the convenience of town and country virtually on our doorstep.
Wroughton is on the A4361 road between Swindon and Avebury, not far from the M4 motorway, so families from the surrounding areas in Wiltshire and even Berkshire can easily reach us to visit residents.
The home itself is a traditional house with a pretty garden, with parking for visitors, and we take great pride in keeping it in excellent repair with a neat and tidy aspect, without being clinical.
The private nursing home is family run by owners Steve Smith and his wife, both registered nurses, who are committed to creating a warm, friendly and caring environment for residents and their relatives.
Moormead Nursing Home has 24 single bedrooms over two storeys (there is a lift), each individually styled and decorated.
Although each room is equipped with hospital profile beds and the necessary medical aids appropriate for the professional nursing care of our elderly residents, we have gone to great lengths to ensure they are cosy havens and not institutional.
Rooms are kept impeccably clean and hygienic without disturbing their occupants. Each has a window with a pleasant aspect and is fitted with a television, telephone, internet and a nurse call bell which is responded to around the clock. All rooms have full fire risk precautions in place.
We encourage residents – whether short or long term – and their families to personalise the bedrooms with pictures, ornaments and knick-knacks brought from home to make for a familiar and comfortable “home from home”.
There are many factors to consider when choosing a nursing home for a loved one – or indeed, for yourself. Here at Moormead we believe that comfort and catering to the individuality of residents is key to their welfare and happiness while in care.
That is why we are intent on making the accommodation in our home an attractive, pleasant and warm space with room for personal possessions, with ease of access and open to visiting at all hours.
Although great quality of care is assured at Moormead, we go further to ensure our residents feel like they are part of our family and are living in a warm-hearted, hospitable house where their well-being on all fronts is a priority – just like it would be in their own home.
